Welcome HISD New Teachers!
Welcome to HISD New Teacher Academy (NTA) 2021 where your educator success begins. There are several resources available to guide you through the week’s experience. First, let’s start with the NTA Conference Guide. You can access it through the New Teacher landing page at www.houstonisd.org/NewTeacherSummer. The NTA Conference Guide is your roadmap to navigate the week including the NTA Days at a Glance, quick access to the Sched conference app, important information regarding attendance, course credit and stipend payment, as well as, specific instructions for special audiences.

To ensure everyone can participate in New Teacher Academy, with or without their network credentials, we use the conference app, Sched. Sched is how you will access almost all of your sessions. Be sure to download the "Accessing Sessions in Sched" directions available on the New Teacher Summer website. You must first log in to Sched to see and click the "Video Stream" yellow button which takes you to your session. Or, you can copy and paste the URL into your browser.

Take a minute right now and follow us @HISD_NewTeach. we encourage you to tweet about your New Teacher Academy experience using the hashtag #HISD_NTA21. Participants will engage in content specific activities and share instructional strategies and best practices related to health and physical education curriculum implementation and programs. An overview of HPE data and legislative mandates/policies/procedures that may impact instructional programs will be presented. Teachers will learn how to access curriculum documents and how to use them to create lesson plans.
